Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how omrireis.com (“the site”, “we”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the site. The site is owned and operated by Omri Reis as a personal portfolio. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

The site is a static portfolio and does not host user accounts or process payments. The following limited information may be collected:

  • Analytics data — collected automatically via Google Analytics 4 (property ID G-L5MY6YV2SE). This includes anonymized data such as your IP address (truncated by Google), device and browser type, the pages you visit, the time spent on each page, the referring URL, and approximate geographic location at the country / city level.
  • Direct messages — if you contact us via the email address published on the site, the message and your email address are processed by the email provider (Google Workspace) and retained for reply and record-keeping.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technologies as follows:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — used to distinguish users and sessions for aggregate traffic measurement. These cookies persist for up to 24 months.
  • Consent cookie (or_cookie_consent) — set by the site to remember your cookie banner choice for 12 months.

You may decline non-essential cookies via the cookie banner shown on first visit, and you may clear cookies in your browser at any time. Declining will stop Google Analytics from being loaded on subsequent visits from your device.

How we use the information

  • To understand which pages and content visitors find useful, so we can improve the site.
  • To diagnose technical issues.
  • To respond to direct enquiries you send by email.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers. We do not use the site’s analytics to build marketing profiles.

Third parties

The following third parties may receive a limited subset of the information described above:

  • Google LLC — Google Analytics 4 (see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy).
  • GitHub, Inc. — the site is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log server-level access data per its privacy statement.
  • Google Fonts — webfonts are loaded from Google’s CDN, which may log standard request data (IP, user agent).

Data retention

Google Analytics data is retained per Google’s default retention policy (currently 14 months, configurable). Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to address your enquiry, and then archived in the email provider for record-keeping.

Your rights

Under applicable law (including Israel’s Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, and the EU GDPR where it applies), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of personal information that is no longer required.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Opt out of analytics tracking via the cookie banner or via Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because the site is static and does not store user accounts, the attack surface is limited to the third-party services listed above, each of which maintains its own security controls.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
